Project objectives and outcomes
LOTE was approached by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation (VRGF) to undertake a communication campaign to convey the message that ‘Gambling can cause harm in anyone’s language’ without stigmatising any specific cultural group. VRGF wanted members of the Cantonese, Mandarin and Vietnamese communities to be able to easily consume the campaign messages, access information from the Gambler’s Help website and where necessary, seek further support. Working closely with VRGF on the strategy, LOTE recommended and subsequently produced an animated video in each language.
The campaign achieved large scale media exposure and an increase in awareness of in-language support services at the Gamblers Help website (demonstrated by an increase in website visits, engagement and social media interaction).
