Girl Guides – Research Campaign

LOTE undertook research on behalf of Girl Guides to identify barriers to participation in guiding among multicultural communities across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria. The research was conducted with parents of daughters between the ages of five and 12 years of age, from the Somali, Iraqi, Punjabi, Croatian, Vietnamese and Chinese communities.

 

Campaign achievements and outcomes

Results identified common barriers such as; a lack of awareness of guides, trust and available time as well as cultural issues such as communication and dress.
