LOTE News

April 2010

Welcome to the first edition of LOTE News for 2010. It has been an exciting start to the year, as we have continued to grow our language translation and ethnic communications services, worked with the Country Fire Authority to help CALD communities stay fire-safe, and participated in the Victorian Government Marketing Services Panel supplier’s expo.

Translations still top notch

It is exciting times at LOTE Marketing as the ethnic communications, multicultural marketing, export marketing and multicultural research arm of our services is expanding. As interstate and local demand grows, we have taken on more production staff in order to continue to provide our language translation services to you as efficiently as possible.

It is timely to remind our supporters that we are language translation specialists, with over ten years experience in the field. We exclusively use NAATI accredited translators, our Quality Assurance charter applies to all translation work irrespective of size, and we pride ourselves on our diligence in checking and proofing translations and typeset work before we supply it to clients in formats that are suitable for printing and uploading onto the web. If clients wish, our professional writers can apply a ‘plain English’ filter on copy for translation, assessing it for ease of reading and cultural appropriateness. At the end of the day, this means that your messages will meet the needs of your target audience.

Helping CALD communities stay fire-safe

Our strong relationship with the Country Fire Authority and the Emergency Alert Campaign continued this summer as we provided translation, ethnic communication and multicultural marketing services to help keep CALD communities safe during the summer fire season. Our support included:
  • Providing spokespersons in over 30 languages to conduct interviews on ethnic radio, and at Community Festivals and Community Fire Safety presentations.
  • Providing multilingual material on the CFA website in over 30 languages. We are now developing this in audio formats for people who have difficulty reading in their own language.
  • Working on the National Early Warning System - Emergency Alert Campaign with Commonwealth and Victorian State Governments. This included preparing content for inclusion in ethnic press, multilingual radio stations, SBS TV, Satellite TV, community television, social networking sites and on the web.

State Government Multicultural Marketing

Following our recent success in being selected for the Victorian Government’s Marketing Services Panel, LOTE Marketing participated in a supplier’s expo at Melbourne's Sofitel Hotel. We had the opportunity to meet with many State Government personnel, as well as other members of the panel. We are most excited about this opportunity and look forward to building relationships and growing our work with the State Government in the important area of multicultural marketing.
